Alene V. Heisserer, 90 of Scott City died Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was in born Ancell, Missouri on May 13, 1930 to Franklin Riley and Anna Pauline Leible Raines. She and Louis A. (Butch) Heisserer were married on October 6, 1951. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2013.
Alene was a homemaker and loved tending her garden and preserving food for the winter. She loved playing cards in local tournaments and attending sports events of her children and grandchildren. She came from a large family and is the last sibling having five brothers and two sisters who preceded death. She also had two infant sons that preceded her in death and a daughter, Mary Ann Heisserer who died in 2005 and her parents.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie S. (Glen) Payne of Scott City; six sons; Ralph (Beth) Heisserer and Tom (Lynda) Heisserer of Kelso, Chris (Tina Robinette) Heisserer of Advance, Dennis (Dona) Heisserer of Chaffee, Greg (Melinda) Heisserer of Scott City, Doug (Mary Ann Buck) of Missoula, Montana; fourteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and two more expected next month.
Visitation will be at 9:00 am until the time of service on Monday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Monday at the church with Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant.
Family requests all attendees wear mask and observe social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Society in Alene’s memory.
