Aggie Marie Abernathy

Marie Abernathy, daughter of the late James and Lilly Lee Latham Oliver was born on March 17, 1933 in Marshall, Arkansas and departed her life on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Delta South Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 90 years.

Marie was a homemaker, avid flower gardener and talker to anyone who'd listen. She was a member of the Morley Baptist Church and a former resident of Morley, Missouri.

On June 4, 1949 she was united in marriage to Bobby Eugene Abernathy.  He passed away on November 4, 2020.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela (Vince) Lovejoy of Richmond, Virginia; two sisters, Wilma Finn of St. Louis, Missouri and Bonnie Brenning of Perryville, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kerissa Ann (Tim) Allbritton, Nathan (Meghan) Walter, Jeremy (Kimberly) Walter, and Whitney (Brandon) Lowe; also, by six great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Jayden, Makenzie, Isabella, Hayden, and Rex.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Marie Walton and Cynthia Walter; seven brothers and sisters, Alfred, Avery, Seth Manuel, Albert, Ann and Betty.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Thompson officiating at the New Morley Cemetery. Interment will follow.
