Maxine Messmer

Maxine Messmer, 76, of Kelso died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at her home. She was born April 27, 1935, in Fornfelt, to Eugene and Bessie Irene Stone Burton. She married Norval Joseph Messmer on Feb. 13, 1954, in Kelso. He preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1990. Maxine is survived by two sons, Jeff (Tammy) Messmer and Tracy (Gayle) Messmer of Jackson; a daughter, Debbie (Ralph) Heisserer of New Hamburg, Mo.; a brother, Jim (Pat) Burton of Scott City; two sisters, Margie (Maurice) Schlosser of Scott City, Barbara (Lester) Garrett of Benton, Mo.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 7. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.
