Mary Catherine Thomas

Mary Catherine Thomas, 88, of Chaffee, MO, passed away at the family home on Tuesday July 31, 2012. She was born in Oran, MO on January 22, 1924, to the late Adam Henry and Bertha Theresa Vogel Kiefer. She married Earl James Thomas on November 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1961. Mary was a retired nurse aide at Chaffee General Hospital. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, MO and the Daughters of St. Ambrose. Survivors include three sons, Jim (Betty) Thomas of Jackson, MO, Steve (Trish) Thomas of Chaffee, MO and Robert Thomas of St. Charles, MO; one daughter, Diana (Doyle) Tankersley of Jefferson City, MO; four grandchildren, two step- grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four step- great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ed Thomas; one grandson, Stevie Thomas; one great grandson, Dylan Tankersley and four brothers, John, Leon, William and Paul Kiefer. Friends may call Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee on Friday August 3, 2012 from 8a.m until time of service. The service will be at 10a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee, MO.
