Carol Ann Trost

Carol Ann Trost, 61, of Chaffee, MO, passed away at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, MO on Tuesday August 14, 2012. She was born in Sikeston, MO on August 14, 1951, to Gordon "Doc" and Mabel Louise Graser Shy Jr. Carol married Art Trost on November 17, 1974 and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1994. Carol was a sewing machine operator at Thorngate Ltd in Chaffee and Cape Girardeau, MO. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, MO and the Daughters of St. Ambrose. Survivors include her mother, Mabel L. Shy of Chaffee, MO; one son, Joe Trost of Arlington, VA; three daughters, Olivia (Kevin) Ferrell of Overland Park, KS, Jenny (A.J.) Hawkins of Arnold, MO and Tricia Watson of Hazelwood, MO; one brother, John (Sally) Shy of CA; three sisters, Cheryl Young of Olathe, KS, Mary Shy of New Madrid, MO and Gail Shy of Chaffee, MO; one grandchild, Zachary Hawkins of Arnold, MO. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, David. Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5PM today. Rosary will be at 7pm at the chapel. Funeral mass will be at 10am on Friday, August 17, 2012 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee with Fr. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant and Fr. Ralph Duffner as co-celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee, MO. Donations may be made to either St. Ambrose Catholic School in Chaffee, MO or Immaculate Conception School in New Madrid, MO.
