Phyllis R. Hamm

Phyllis R. Hamm, 78, of Chaffee, MO, passed away on Saturday September 1, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born in Chaffee, MO on January 23, 1934, to the late Raymond Earl and Thelma Marie Schott Jones. Phyllis married James Roby Rogers on September 23, 1950 and he preceded her in death on August 22, 1958. She married Norman "Cowboy" Hamm on July 20, 1963 and he preceded her in death on September 10, 1982. She was a cook for Chaffee General Hospital and she retired from Environmental Services at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, MO and belonged to the Daughters of St. Ambrose. Phyllis was a member of the Chaffee American Legion Post #389 and International Brotherhood Teamsters #573. Survivors include two sons, Steve (Linda) Rogers of New Madrid, MO, Larry Rogers of Seattle, WA; one daughter, Janie(Jim) Fowler of Chaffee, MO; one brother, Gary (Judy) Jones of Chaffee, MO; two sisters, Judy Davis of Chaffee, MO and Cindy (Mike) Wibbenmeyer of Friedheim, MO; three grandchildren Amy (Lucas) Branson of Linn, MO, Molly Fowler (Tyler Cookson) of Boston, MA, Kori (Neal) Grossheider of Valdosta, GA; two step-grandchildren, Stacy (John) Pikey of New Madrid, MO, Ronnie(Kristine) Adams of Portageville, MO. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Earl Jones; one granddaughter, Ashley Rogers of New Madrid, MO; one step-granddaughter, Sydney Beth Pikey and longtime companion, Guy Bunyard. Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4PM on Monday. Parish Prayers will be at 7PM at the chapel. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday September 4, 2012 at 10AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee with Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley. In lieu of flowers the family request any donations be made to St. Ambrose Catholic School.
