Howard L. Stevens, 77, of Oran, MO passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16,2012 at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, MO. He was born July 27, 1935, in Scopus, MO to the late George Pinkney and Hester Zeda Welch Stevens. He married Yvonne M. Cook on March 2, 1957 and she preceded him in death on May 27, 2009. He worked as a supervisor at International Hat Factory in Oran, MO until 1977, and he then was Chief of Police for the City of Oran, MO until retirement. He was a member for many years at Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Oran, MO and is a member of Greater Vision Pentecostal Church in Chaffee, MO. Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Roger) Morrett of Oran, MO, Connie (Don) Biri of Cape Girardeau, MO, Becky Stevens of Oran, MO; one brother, Odell (Margie) Stevens of Marble Hill, MO; three sisters, Louise Ladd of Oran, MO, Mary (Milford) Kirn of Jackson, MO, Sherry Brown of Marble Hill, MO; two grandsons, Michael Stevens of Oran, MO, Brian Biri of Cape Girardeau, MO; one great granddaughter, Kaylee Biri of Jackson, MO . Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 4PM, Thursday, October 18, 2012. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 19, 2012, at 11AM at Victory Life United Pentecostal Church in Oran, MO with Rev. Robert Poe officiating assisted by Rev. Brian Flannigan. Burial will follow at Friend Cemetery in Oran.
