Rev. Jack Bishop

Rev. Jack Bishop, 82, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born June 26, 1930 at Neely's Landing, Missouri to the late Archie Lee and Margaret Rose Bullard Bishop. He married Kathy Weddle on July 10, 1955 at Amity, IN. Jack served in the ministry for 58 years, pastoring several churches in Missouri, Arkansas and Indiana after he served in the United States Air Force. He was a Mason for over 50 years, currently a member at Chaffee Mosonic Lodge AF & AM 615. His home church was New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas, MO. He was the pastor and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee, MO. Jack is survived by his wife of the home; one daughter, Cindy Harris of Benton, MO; one son, Robert (Lesa) Bishop of Bunker, MO; one grandson Zachary Harris of Benton, MO; one granddaughter Faith Bishop of Bunker, MO; one brother, Rev. Delbert (Marjorie) Bishop of Oran, MO; two sisters, Sharon McCullough and LaDora (Richard) Sides both of Jackson, MO; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Bishop. Friends may call after 4 PM, Friday, December 14, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee, MO. Visitation will be Saturday, after 10AM until time of service at New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas, MO. Funeral Service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, December 15, 2012 at New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas, MO with Rev. Ted Wimberly officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Pocahontas, MO. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee, MO.
