Lester G. Glastetter, 93, of Oran, MO passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Chaffee Nursing Center. He was born November 4, 1919 in Oran, MO to the late Frank and Clara Amrhein Glastetter. He married Violet Hooker on July 26, 1941 and she preceded him in death on April 22, 2012. Lester was a sergeant in the United States Air Force during WWII. He was a truck driver for Scott Co. Milling Co. in Oran until 1962, he then retired as a truck driver from Cape Ready Mix. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, St. Joseph Sodality, Knights of Columbus Council #4311 in Oran and a charter member and trustee of the Morley V.F.W. Post #5368. Survivors include two sons, Leonard (Linda) Glastetter, Larry (Patty) Glastetter both of Oran, Mo; one daughter, Janet (Richard) Randolph of Oran, Mo; four grandchildren, Brent (Laura) Glastetter of Mooresville, NC, Melissa (Burl) Turner of Dexter, Mo, Lesley (Justin) Rone of Portageville, Mo, Travis Randolph of Clayton, Mo; three great grandchildren, Austin and Ryan Turner of Dexter, Mo, Jack Rone of Portageville, Mo; two brothers, Gilbert Glastetter of Montgomery, TX, Ernest Glastetter of Oran, Mo; three sisters, Evelyn Hooker of O'Fallon, Mo, Maxine Whelan of Hazelwood, Mo, Virginia Uptain of Weatherford, TX. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Friends may call after 4PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Parish rosary will be held at 5:30PM followed by the KC Prayers. The funeral mass will be held Thursday at 10AM at Guardian Angel Catholic Church with Rev.Randy Tochtrop as celebrant and Rev. John Harth as co-celebrant. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery with full military honors presented by Missouri Honor Guard and Morley V.F.W. Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
