Ruby Phillips, age 83, passed away at Chaffee Nursing Center on December 30, 2012. Willard "Shorty" Phillips, age 89, passed away January 2, 2013 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. Ruby was born on December 3, 1929 in Tyroza, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Nina Robertson Sr. Willard was born in Bragg City, Missouri on July 10, 1923 to the late Ethridge and Ola Price Phillips. Willard was a member of the United States Army Air Corp and served in WWII. Ruby and "Shorty" were married on May 25, 1948. "Shorty" was owner and operator of Phillips T.V. and Radio in Chaffee and a self-employed commercial pilot and flight instructor. They were both members of First United Methodist Church in Chaffee. They are survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Ronnie) Eifert and Judy (Elvis) Abernathy both of Chaffee, MO; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Ruby is also survived by one brother, Oscar Robertson Jr. of Jackson, TN and one half-brother, George (Ladina) Robertson of Lake Placid, FL. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jimmie Robertson and one half-sister, Alice Freeman. There will be no public visitation. A graveside service will be held at 3PM, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Union Park Cemetery with Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating. Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
