Truman Senciboy

Truman Senciboy, 88, of Perkins passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born June 29, 1924, in Oran, Mo., to the late George F. and Zelma Ehtherton Senciboy. Truman was a United States Marine and participated in action against Japan at Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands, from May 28 to June 30, 1945. He also participated in the occupation of Japan from Aug. 30, 1945, to June 23, 1946, at the end of World War II. He married Christine A. Scheffer on Jan. 24, 1948, in Tunica, Miss. She preceded him in death Aug. 26, 2011. He was a retired livestock and grain farmer. Truman was a former member of the Perkins Fire Department, and also a member of the Williams Cemetery Board, on which he was active for many years. Survivors include three sons, Jim (Doris) Senciboy Sr. and Bill Senciboy, both of Perkins, and Tom Senciboy of Oran; one sister, Joy Ann Robertson of Lawson, Kan.; four grandchildren, Bill Senciboy Jr., Christy Smith, Dr. Donna Senciboy and Vicki Straw; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, James T. Senciboy Jr.; four brothers, J.P. Senciboy, Bob Senciboy, Billy Senciboy and Dale Senciboy; two sisters, Iola Senciboy and Opal Pratt; and a daughter-in-law, Rita Senciboy. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Brian Gill officiating. Burial will be in William Cemetery in Perkins. The Missouri Honor Guard will perform full military honors at the cemetery.
