Velton Loyd Taylor

Velton Loyd " Pap" Taylor, 68 of Benton, MO died February 3, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born February 14, 1944 in Morehouse, MO to Luner "Rass" and Nettie Pearl Sharkey Taylor. He married Nancy Allene Lemmink on July 5, 1985. He was a maintenance man for Bunny Bread for twenty years then he was owner/operator of his appliance shop in Benton, MO. He was a volunteer fire fighter in Morehouse where he was the fire chief for 4 years and helped organize fundraisers for Christmas gifts for the kids and elderly. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Jamie (Corey) Casey of Benton; two brothers, Hubert (Joyce) Taylor and James Taylor both of Farmersville, CA; a grandson, Alex Casey of Benton; a niece, Angie Sisk and Fiancé' Robert Pryor of New York City, NY; a nephew, Troy Sisk and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Rosemary Sisk, Charyl Taylor, Barbara Scott, Betty Wiggins; a brother, Rodger Taylor; mother-in-law, Virginia Lemmink and brother-in-law, James Lemmink. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service on Friday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Benton, MO. Funeral Service will be at Noon at the chapel with Rev. Randy Morse officiating. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery in Morley, MO.
