Norman Michael Pobst

Norman "Mike" Pobst Sr., age 79, of Chaffee, MO passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, MO. He was born in Caney, MO on September 17, 1933 to the late Matthew and Eleanora Susan Gosche Pobst. "Mike" married Wanda Evans on May 26, 1960 and she preceded him in death on May 4, 1981. He was a member of the United States Army serving during the Korean War, St. Ambrose Catholic Church, St. Ambrose Mens Club and Chaffee Elks Lodge #1810. He was a retired truck driver for Day Transfer Co. in Cape Girardeau, MO. Survivors include two sons, Mike and Donnie Pobst of Chaffee, MO; two brothers, Clifford and Larry Pobst of Chaffee, MO; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Conroy and one granddaughter, Fawn Shelton. A graveside service will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery near Puxico with full military honors presented by the Missouri honor Guard. Rev. Randy Tochtrop will officiate. Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
