Velma M. Williams

Velma M. Williams, age 96, of Kelseyville, CA, formerly of Chaffee, MO passed away on Friday June 21, 2013, in Kelseyville, CA. She was born on September 6, 1916 in Moreland Township, MO to the late Leo and Bertha Morie Blattel. She married Lawrence Williams on March 30, 1936 and he preceded her in death on July 4, 1983. Velma worked at Buckstein Pants Factory in Chaffee, MO. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, MO. She was a vibrant, energetic, life loving lady! She loved to garden and to can all her harvest. Velma also enjoyed dancing and music of all kinds as well as cooking for her family. She loved homemade ice cream and chicken n dumplins. She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the U.S and later in life she enjoyed vacationing with friends to Rome and Paris. She was special and unique beyond compare. She was truly loved. Her blue eyes and endearing smile will be greatly missed. Survivors include two grandchildren, Monae Harrell-Rosgen of CA, Rene' Garson of PA; two great grandchildren, Danielle and Lauren Garson both of PA. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Rose Harrell; one brother, Harold Blattel and one sister, Alene Stausing. A graveside service will be announced at a later date and held at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
