Dorothy E. Pobst passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Fountianbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born March 18, 1922 in Bertrand, Missouri to the late Robert L. and Mary Edith Thomason. She married Lawrence Pobst, Jr. of Commerce, Missouri on July 2, 1949, in Charleston, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1999. They lived on their farm in Commerce, Missouri from 1949 until 1997. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Commerce and active in the United Methodist's Women and taught Sunday school for over 40 years. She attended Southeast Teachers CollegeShe was a wonderful cook, gardener, and homemaker. Loving survivors are her 3 children, Robert L. (Cecilia) Pobst of Osage Beach, James "Jim" Pobst of Ellington, and Linda G. Pobst, of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Tanya (Kevin) Byers of St. Louis, Daniel Pobst of Columbia, Jeffrey Pobst and Dustin Pobst of St. Louis, and Kassandra (Jeremy) Dement of Centerville; Four great grandchildren, Juliette, Joshua, and Gabriella Byers of St. Louis, and Rylan Dement of Centerville; a brother, Robert J. (Geraldine) Thomason of Charleston; two sisters, Nadine Lynn of Sikeston, and Mary Katherine Rolwing of Charleston; a brother in law, Fred Kraft of Cape Girardeau plus 29 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother William L. Thomason and brothers - in - laws Clyde Lynn and Mark Rolwing . Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service on Saturday, July 27 at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at the chapel w/ W. Michael Woods officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Charleston, MO. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Commerce.
