Joy Venable

Joy Venable, 72, of Scott City, died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born October 19, 1940 at Sikeston, Mo., the daughter of Bryan Glenn and Jacqulain Marie Stephens Jolly. She married Earl Wayne Venable on Feb. 22, 1956. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1985. Joy worked for Drury Hotels as a reservation clerk. She was a member of Illmo Baptist Church in Scott City. Survivors include; a son, Bryan (Kim) Venable of Commerce, Mo.; two daughters, Terri (Brad) Hahn of Benton, Mo. and Stephni Venable of Creve Coeur, Mo. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother Glenn Stine. There will be a time of Celebration and Sharing from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Memorial service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Vernon McClearn officiating. Burial will follow in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
