Mary Louise Schlitt, 76 of Oran, went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, October 7, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 7th, 1937 in Union County Kentucky to Rufus & Mary Harlean Little Hart. On October 22, 1955 she married the love of her life, Jerome Paul Schlitt at Guardian Angel Church in Oran. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. Her family meant the world to her & she meant the world to her family. Mary was a wonderful cook. She cooked at Guardian Angel Catholic School & the Oran Public Schools. She also cooked for many weddings & church dinners. Mary was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality & the KCettes. In addition to her husband she is survived by five children, Jerry Schlitt (Tammy Seyer) of Chaffee, Malinda (Martin) Priggel, Carol (Pete) Dennis, Lori (Shaun) Dirnberger & Michael "Butch" (Jo) Schlitt all of Oran. She is also survived by ten grandchildren & seven great grandchildren; Jeremy Schlitt of Ava, MO, Amber Schlitt, Adriana & Jocelyn of Cape Girardeau, Justin, Lyndsey, Jackson, Madelyn & Lily Glueck of Kansas City, MO, Josh Glueck (Emily Welker) of Oran, Ryan, Katherine, Andrew & Emma Dennis of Sikeston, Jordie Dennis (Amanda Cruz), Levi Dennis (Cassie Essner), Cody Dirnberger (Brittney Rhodes), Alex & Erin Schlitt all of Oran. One sister also survives , Barbara (Richard) Limbaugh of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Melba Lois; her mother & father-in-law, Mose & Germaine Schlitt. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Parish prayers will be held at 5:30 PM . Knights of Columbus prayer service will be at 7:30 PM Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran with Rev. John Harth & Rev. Randy Tochtrop as concelebrants. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
