Richard Sturm Charles "Richard" Sturm, 68 of Scott City died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at his home. He was born May 7, 1945 in Fornfelt, Missouri to Morris "Junior" and Laura Glen Biggs Sturm. He married Rita Mercer on Feb 4, 1985. He worked in the Sanitation Department for the City of Scott City. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 6407 in Scott City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and served during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife Rita; a son, Charles Sturm, Jr. of California; a step-son, Terry Bollinger of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Theresa Sturm of California; a step-daughter, Rosa Bollinger of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Donald (Fat) Sturm of Gordonville, William (Judy) Sturm of Jackson and Pete Sturm of Scott City; two sisters, Janet Keesee and Mary Jo (Johnny) Rogers both of Scott City and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Sturm. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 14, 2014 at the chapel with Rev. Randy Morse officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery with full military honors.
