Dominic Michael Hooper, age 17, of Scott City MO, passed away due to injuries sustained in an ATV accident on Sunday February 23, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center, surrounded by his family and friends. Dominic was born on June 28, 1996 in Cape Girardeau MO the son of Sara Hooper and Lee Eads. He was a senior at Scott City High School and attended grade school at St. Augustine School, Kelso MO; East Side Elementary School, Elizabethton TN; and St. Joseph School, Scott City MO. He was a member of St. Augustine Church in Kelso MO. Dominic was very active in sports and enjoyed playing Football, Basketball, Baseball and weight lifting. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Pep Club, Theater Club, G.A.S. Club, A+ program and was a four year Honor Roll student. Dominic is survived by his parents Chris and Sara (Hooper) Snider of Scott City MO; sister Amanda and brother Drake Snider of Taylorsville KY; Grandma Charlotte "Ga-Ga" (Schlosser) Hooper of Scott City MO; Grandma Joan "Nae-Nae" Drury of Scott City MO; Grandmother Barbara "Nanny" Brownfield of Louisville KY; Aunt and Uncle, Christine and Clint Estes of Scott City MO; Aunt Cheryl Tucker of Scott City MO; Aunt and Uncle and Godfather Becky and Allen Collier of Scott City, MO; his cousins Caleb, Zachary, Abagail, and Sammy Estes, Catrina Stone, Ryan Brock, Alivia, Ty, Bennett, and Charlotte Collier, and his girlfriend Amanda Gassel of Fruitland MO. He is also survived by his father, Lee Eads and his brothers, Michael and Cooper Eads of Poplar Bluff MO. Dominic was preceded in death by his Grandfather Robert Hooper and Grandfather John Brownfield. Dominic loved life and lived each day to the fullest. He never met a stranger and always went out of his way to make sure everyone he saw was happy and smiling. He had such an infectious personality and had a very special ability to make friends with everyone he met. He loved spending time with his friends, whether it was playing on one of many different team sports, dunk ball, Frisbee golf, video games, listening to music, dancing, or just hanging out. He was the life of the party and liked to be the center of attention. Dominic was a wonderful, caring young man, a very driven person with a great sense of humor. His compassion for others and trust and faith in God was astonishing. His kind and generous heart was unending. He loved spending time with his family and playing with his cousins. He has touched the lives of so many people from many different places and has continued to do so even after his death. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8:00 p.m. in the gymnasium of Scott City High School. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am by Rev. Oliver Clavin at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dominic's memory to; The Dominic M.
