Wendell Wayne Toton, 84, of Scott City died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Feb. 4, 1930, in Portageville, Mo., to Francis and Lena Brasher Toton. Wendell was owner/operator of Overhead Door Co. in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of Illmo United Methodist Church in Scott City. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Survivors include his life companion of 44 years, Mackie Childers of Scott City; and a brother, Harry Toton of Portageville. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Portageville Cemetery in Portageville, MO with the Rev. Jim Woeltje officiating and full military honors.
