Wendell "Mick" Glency, age 76, of Chaffee, MO passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born on May 8, 1937 in Chaffee, MO to the late Lawrence Joseph and Jessie Rozina Bailey Glency. He married Ruth Anne Sullivan on November 30, 1959 and she survives. Mick was a retired forklift operator for Essex Cable Company in Sikeston, MO. He was a lifetime member of the Chaffee Elks Lodge #1810; a tribe member of United Blackfoot Nation and his Indian name was Mick "Talking Horse" Glency. Ruth and Mick enjoyed camping at Arrowhead Campground and he and his dog Tippy loved to mess around in the yard. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Anne, of Chaffee, MO; two sons, Mitchell (Lisa) Glency of Cape Girardeau, MO, Sam (Tonya) Glency of Chaffee, MO; two daughters, Gayliene Glency of Chaffee, MO, Brenda (Scott) Dannenmueller of Chaffee, MO; two sisters, Lavern Simpson of Chaffee, MO, Velma Hester of Delta, MO; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, three sisters and a grandson. Friends may call after 4PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, MO. Elks service will be held at 6:30p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11AM, Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the chapel with Rev. Robert Lewis officiating assisted by nephews, Rev. Justin Sullivan and Michael Hester. Burial will follow at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee, MO.
