Laura Mae Sanford, 94 of Scott City died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born October 6, 1919 in Morley, MO to Herman Elzie and Ada Marina Burns Humphrey. She married James Leroy Sanford on January 4, 1936 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2006. She was a seamstress at Ely Walker. She is survived by a daughter, Betty Rosenquist of Scott City; a brother, Harry Humphrey of Alton, IL; four grandchildren, Deaonna (Paul) Dale of Salem, MO, Ed Ressel, Jr. of Kelso, Deborah (Rick) Tittle of Sikeston, MO, James Ressel of Cape Girardeau; five great grandchildren, Ian, Brother Placid (Isaac) and Eric Dale, Sean (Lindsay) Dannenmueller and Amber (Brad) Armstrong; four great great grandchildren, Vaida, Tabitha, Piper and Carson Michael. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at the chapel with Rev. Jack Owens officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
