Billy Gene Hahs, 87 of Cape Girardeau, MO died June 11, 2014 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born July 16, 1926 in Millersville, MO to Pearl Columbus and Hester Faith Propst Hahs. He married Ethel Mae Pease on Jan. 15, 1974. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2004. He was a Heavy Construction Operator for Midwest Operations Local 150. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Cape V.F.W. Post 3838 and Cape Eagle Aerie 3775. He is survived by seven daughters, Beverly (Joe) Hercik of Oak Ridge, Susan Smith of Detroit, MI, Karen (Kevin) McCabe of Patton, Ann (Ken) Pettit of Huntley, IL, Sheri Banbury of Gilberts, IL, Margie (David) Jasutis of South Elgin, IL, and Sandra Davidson of Phoenix, AZ; four sons, Duane (Barbara) Davidson of Clinton, Iowa, Danny Davidson of Jackson, Rick Davidson of Gilberts, IL and Jack Banbury of Elgin, IL; a sister-in-law, Wilma Hahs of Sikeston; special friend, LaVerne Hartley of Cape Girardeau; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Ethel; 1st wife, Goldie Mae Paskvan; infant daughter, Cathy; two sons, Terry and Mack and a brother, John Clyde Hahs. A Memorial Service will be held at Lairds Funeral Home in Elgin, IL at a later date.
