Joseph L. Heuring

Joseph L. Heuring, age 81, of New Hamburg, MO passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the family home in New Hamburg. He was born on March 21, 1933 in New Hamburg, MO to the late Lawrence and Clara Gosche Heuring. He married Margaret A. Chapman on January 10, 1959 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, MO. Joseph served in the United States Army and was a retired salesman for Homestead Distributing in Sikeston after 32 years. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, American Legion in Benton and St. Joseph Sodality. He played and coached fastpitch softball for over 30 years and was a member of the 1967 Schindler's State Fastpitch Softball team. Survivors include his wife, Margaret of the home; one son, Dean (Leonna) Heuring of New Hamburg, MO.; one daughter, Sheila R. Beggs (fiancée Kevin Dannenmueller) of Benton, MO.; one sister, Lorena (Henry) Beussink of New Hamburg, MO.; seven grandchildren, Ashley Beggs, Megan (Billy) Van Pelt, Whitney (Derrick) Uhrhan, Brooks (Heather) Heuring, Brant Heuring (fiancée Samantha Bentley), Brittney (Brock) Powers, Rolen Heuring; four great grandchildren, Jaxon and Reece Van Pelt, Abigail and Gracie Heuring; two step-great grandchildren, Caleb and Isabella Helton. He was also preceded in death by one son, Kenneth J. Heuring; three brothers, Charles, Elmer and Sylvester. Friends may call after 3p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg. Parish Rosary will be at 7p.m. at the church. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 10a.m. at the church with Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in New Hamburg with full military honors presented by the Missouri Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Dennis or St. Ambrose Catholic Schools or American Red Cross.
