Irma M. Frye

Irma Mae Frye, 78 of Scott City died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born November 14, 1935 in Aribba, CO to Herman Henry and Maggie Mae McCallum Brunke. She married John Grant Frye on January 9, 1954 and celebrated 60 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2014. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a lifetime member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City and an active member of Sunny Hill Garden Club and SEMO Radio Club. Irma was a rural carrier for US Postal Service. In the past she was an active Girl Scout Council Troop Leader. She is survived by a son, Mike Frye of Scott City; three daughters, Patty (Tom) Schiwitz of Chaffee, Donna (Mike) Essner of Scott City, Debbie (Carl) Kolkmeier of St. Charles; a daughter-in-law, Donna Frye of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, John G. Frye III; a brother and two sisters. Visitation will be from 5:00- 8:00 PM Sunday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City and Monday from 1:00 PM until time of service at Eisleben Lutheran Church. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Monday at the church with Rev. Marty Hasz officiating. Burial will be in Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery in Scott City. Memorials may be made to Eisleben Lutheran Church or Sunny Hill Village Garden Club.
