Chester Raymond Carr

Chester Raymond Carr, age 96, of Oran, MO passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born on July 6, 1918 in Blair, MO to the late Arch O. and Carla E. Sites Carr. He married Irene Elizabeth Wagoner on Sept. 21, 1945 and she preceded him in death on November 6, 2009. Chester served in the United States Army during WWII as a Sgt. Tank Commander. He was an operator at Texas Eastern Pipeline in Oran, MO and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oran, MO. Survivors include one son, Ronald (Donna Raye) Carr of Oran, MO; one daughter, Donna Jean (Dennis) Albee of Oran, MO; one granddaughter, Teresa May (Chad) Clevenger and one great grandson, Clay David Clevenger both of Excelsior Springs, MO. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. Friends may call after 4p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral service will be at 1p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the chapel with Rev. Brian Gill officiating. Burial will follow at Friend Cemetery in Oran, MO with full military honors presented by the Missouri Honor Guard.
