Calvin Eifert

Calvin John Eifert, 91 of Scott City died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born on June 30, 1923 to John and Sophie Ketler Eifert. He married Dorothy Gene Gerrard on June 4, 1949. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1976. Calvin was a Morse code telegrapher for Frisco Railroad. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Cape Girardeau, Eagles in Cape Girardeau, American Legion in Jackson and the Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. He is survived by a son; Calvin (Barbara) Eifert, Jr of Bonne Terre, MO; a daughter, Pamela Swafford of Scott City; three grandchildren, Chase Anthony Swafford, Erin Elizabeth Eifert and Eric Jonathan Eifert and a step granddaughter, Julia Yancheck. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City and from 9:30 -11:00 AM on Saturday at the Eisleben Lutheran church. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church with Rev. Marty Hasz officiating. Burial will be in Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery in Scott City.
