Emma L. Burton, 84 of Scott City died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born April 16, 1930 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Robert and Maude Beckett Diamond. She married Lloyd McFall on March 17, 1946, he preceded her in death on September 24, 1970. She later married Fred Gerlach who also preceded her in death on March 28, 1992. She then married Gene Burton on September 12, 1998. Emma worked at Thorngate and Drury Industries. She was a member of V.F. W. Ladies Aux. Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau, Gold Star Mother and Eagles 3775 in Cape. She is survived by her husband, Gene Burton of Scott City; a son, Roy (Nancy) McFall of Buckeye, AZ; two daughters, Janice (Mike) Elfrink of Cape Girardeau and Peggy (Rick) McMullin of Jackson; a step-son Rick (Susan) Burton of Pocahontas; two brothers, Robert "Bud" ( Violet) Diamond of Cape Girardeau and Bill VanTroba of Poplar Bluff, MO; a sister, Georgia Wren of Cape Girardeau, MO; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert McFall and a stepson, Gene Allan Burton Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at the chapel with Rev. Bruce Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
