Virginia A. Phillips

Virginia A. Phillips, age 93, of Morley, MO passed away at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO on Saturday, November 15, 2014. She was born on March 3, 1921, in Chaffee, MO, to the late Sylvester and Anna Elizabeth Owens Matthews. Virginia retired as a manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield in St. Louis, MO then moved back to Morley in 1987 where she attended Morley Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Richard (Kay) Evans of Hawpoint, MO; one daughter, Elizabeth Anne (Gary) Pobst of Oran, MO; raised a granddaughter, Michele Ferguson of Morley, MO; two sisters, Christine Unnerstall of Chubbuck, IN, Edith (Jim) Lansmon of Cape Girardeau, MO; nine grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren and sixteen great- great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, John; a daughter, Sherry; a grandson, Jeff; a great-great grandson, Lane; ten brothers and sisters. Friends may call from 11a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, MO. Funeral service will be at 1p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the chapel with Rev. Bill Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee, MO.
