Ray Gerald Gibbar, 78 of Scott City died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born December 30, 1935 in Lithium, MO to James Lemie and Gertrude McLain Gibbar. He married Aliene Gladys Vincent on February 12, 1958 in Benton, MO. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2007. Ray was an oiler on the riverboat. He volunteered at the Scott City Nutrition Center and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. He is survived by two brothers, Leon Gibbar of Cape Girardeau and Kenneth Gibbar of Jackson and a sister, Dolores Gibbar of Cape Girardeau. He was also preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Funeral service will be at 10:00 Am on Monday at the chapel with Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, MO.
