Lilla Mae Curnell, 80 of Scott City died Monday, February 9, 2015 at her home. She was born January 16, 1935 in Dutchtown, MO to R. A. "Arnold" and Alma Goetz Lape. She married Douglas E. Curnell on March 20, 1954 in Illmo, MO. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2001. She worked at Florsheim. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Early Bird Bowling League. She is survived by a son, Jeff (Tricia) Curnell of Scott City; a daughter, Barb (Sam) Herndon of Scott City; six grandchildren, Alaina Smith of Hoboken, NJ, Kyla (Matthew) Ressel of Scott City, Samuel "Andy" Herndon V of Jackson, Anne Quatmann of Gordonville, Sara Cairns of Cape Girardeau and Becky Desautels of Las Vegas; two great grandchildren, Ella Mae and Logan James Ressel and 10 step great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Lape. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday at the chapel with Rev. Jim Woeltje officiating. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
