Vincent C. Dirnberger

Vincent Cyril Dirnberger, 88, of New Hamburg went peacefully into God's hands Saturday, February 28th, 2015, while surrounded by his loving family. Although it is with heavy hearts that Vincent leaves this world, it is very comforting to his family that they were able to grant Vincent his final wish - that he be able to take his final breath at the home place where both he and his father were born and raised. After living the first part of his life on the family farm with his parents, Joseph and Mamie (Scherer) Dirnberger, on June 18th, 1949, Vincent was joined by the love of his life, Viola Monica Duenne. Together Vincent and Monica created a very special place where their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others would eventually call home. Although Vincent's dream of playing baseball professionally never came to pass, together he and Monica were able to do one better for their entire family by creating the "Field with Dreams", a place where family was truly able to enjoy their time together and create everlasting memories. Starting their family with ten children, Vincent and Monica's family quickly grew. Vincent would be the first to tell you he had ten children and they were all boys except seven. Vincent is survived by seven daughters, Kay Elkins, Carolyn Ward, Joyce (Harold) Eftink, Judy (Steve) Lynn, JoAnn (Kenny) Heisserer, Linda (Mike) Senciboy, and Rosemary (Derrick) Irwin; a special daughter, Nellie (Daryl) Kirkpatrick; and two sons, Gerard (Shari) Dirnberger and Joe (Valerie) Dirnberger. Also 27 grandchildren, Rachel Felter, Vincent Elkins, Karrin Lee, Becky Moore, Jaime Howell, DeAnna Hamilton, Matthew (Stacey) Kirkpatrick, Cheryl (Jason) Torres, Eric (Jennifer) Beardslee, Tyler Beardslee, Austin Eftink, Rhonda (Daniel) Carroll, Jeremy (Jennifer) Lynn, Dana (Jeremy) Daniel, Andrea (Kyle) Koepp, Travis (Gretchen) Dirnberger, Ashley (Shayn) Mabury, Cody Dirnberger, Garrett (Emily) Senciboy, Monica (Major) Burger, Brandon (Cara) Dirnberger, Amber (Trent) Walter, Carrissa Dirnberger, Bryce Dirnberger, Trevor Irwin, Trent Irwin, and Taylor Irwin. Also 35 great-grandchildren, Austin and Brylee Elkins, Jasmine and Jaylen Lee, Jaxson Haynes , Hudson Moore, Michaela Howell, Matthew, Michael and Julia Hamilton, Emma and Madelyn Kirkpatrick, Peter, Nathaniel, Andrew, and Joseph Torres, Graycen Beardslee, Ava Kenkel (Beardslee), and expecting Makenna Beardslee in June , Mason and Millie Carroll, Jersie and Grayden Lynn, Allie, Andrew, and Anniston Daniel, Beckam Koepp, Bennett Dirnberger, expecting Aynsley Mabury in April, Hayden and Liam Senciboy, Mila Burger, Leelynn and Oliver Walter, and Berkley Dirnberger. He is also survived by a sister, Georgia Dannenmueller. Vincent was preceded in death by the love of his life, Viola Monica Duenne Dirnberger, on July 17th, 2013, a son, Ronald Eugene Dirnberger, a son-in-law, Michael Leon Ward, and a great-granddaughter Shayley Reese Mabury. His parents and three brothers also preceded him in death. In addition to being a member of St. Lawrence Parish and St. Joseph Sodality, Vincent also served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Land Bank for 32 years. Although farming was one of Vincent's passions, he was also able to share his love of baseball with many of his own children by coaching them for many years. Before departing from this world, one of Vincent's own dreams was realized. On Vincent and Monica's 60th Anniversary, Vincent had the rare opportunity of meeting his boyhood idol, Stan the Man (Musial). Although this was huge in Vincent's life as was farming, Vincent would be the first to tell you the best crop he ever grew was his family. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, MO. Parish rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the church, with the Rev. Michael Casteel officiating.
