MACK EDWARD VARNON Beloved brother Mack Edward Varnon of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, March 28, at Landmark Hospital following a long illness. Mack is the son of John and Pauline Varnon, both deceased, of Scott City, MO. He is survived by one son, Jim Varnon of Austin, TX, and two brothers and four sisters: Tony (Janet) Varnon of Cape Girardeau, Richard (Suzanne) Varnon of Memphis, Deloris (Joe) Raffety of Clarksville, TN, Mary Sue (Bill) Stacy of Chattanooga, TN, Betty (Bob) Cruse of St. Louis, Nita (Toby) Roodman of Pacific Grove, CA, and Patt (Stephen) Sharp of Kennett, MO. Mack was preceded in death by son Michael Varnon of St. Louis, brother Stanley Varnon of St. Louis, and brother John Sam Varnon, Jr., of Harviell, MO. Mack is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Before retiring, he was employed as a computer programmer for Missouri Pacific Railroad in St. Louis. Visitation will be Thursday, April 2, at 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, MO. A Memorial Service will follow at the Chapel at 7 p.m. Interment at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO is scheduled for a later date.
