Delmar Witt

Delmar Wayne Witt, 92 of Cape Girardeau, MO formerly of Scott City died April 12, 2015 at the Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born May 12, 1922 in Arrowsmith, IL to George Vader and Carrie Mae Taylor Witt. He married Betty LaVerne Short on June 25, 1946 in St. Louis, Mo. She preceded him in death in January 16, 2005. Delmar was manager at West Lake Quarry. He served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II and was a member of V.F. W. in Arrowsmith, IL. He is survived by a son, Robert (Lou) Witt of Benton, MO; three daughters, Arlinda (Alan) McElmurry of Jackson, Patricia (George) Ricca of Morton, IL and Deborah (Jim) McMahon of Scott City; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and his family at the Veterans Home. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother and a son, Donald Witt. Visitation will be from 6:00 -7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City and from 11:30 AM until time on service on Thursday. Funeral Service will be on 1:00 PM on Thursday at the chapel with Rev. Kathryn Otto officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.
