William Gentry

William Howard Gentry, 85, of Marion, Illinois, formerly of Scott City, died Friday April 24, 2015 at his home. He was born September 29, 1929 in Sikeston to Glen Halbert and Pearl Collins Gentry. He married Patsy Ruth Hosea on September 1, 1951. William was a foreman for the Terminal Railroad. Survivors include his wife Patsy ; three sons, Hal (Jean) Gentry of Clayton, MO, Terry (Gerrie Brinker) Gentry of St.Clair, MO, and Mark (Michelle Mangnall) Gentry of House Springs, MO; a daughter, Tammy (John) Dean of Park Hills, MO; six brothers, Lynn, Stan and Danny Gentry all of Scott City, Mike and Dick Gentry both of Cape Girardeau, and Steve Gentry of Leopold; two sisters, Betty McKinley of Scott City and Connie Scales of Houston, TX. ; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Roger Gentry. Friends may call from 1:00 until time of service Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Tuesday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers Please make donations to AutismSpeaks.org to tribute William Gentry.
