Betty Lea Dooley Mirly, age 75, of Chaffee, MO passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at her sons home. She was born on March 16, 1940 in Cape Girardeau, MO to the late Joe Burnett and Imogene Stacy Phillips. Betty married Larry Dooley on January 10, 1959 and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1984. She married Marvin "Mert" Mirly on September 18, 1987 and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2010. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee. She sang in the choir and filled in as organist from time to time. She was a founding member of both the Chaffee High School Alumni Association and the Chaffee Historical Society. Survivors include two sons, Randy (Dawn) Dooley and Mitch (Lisa) Dooley both of Chaffee; one daughter, Tracy (David) Kirchdoerfer of Chaffee; two step-sons, Mike (Debbie) Mirly of Chaffee, Doug (Robin) Mirly of Ballwin, MO; one brother, Bob Burnett of Chaffee; three sisters, Mary Lizenbee and Sue Sallee both of Chaffee, Judy Horton of Glen Carbon, IL; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Burnett. Friends may call after 4 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee, MO. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the church with Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating. Burial will follow at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee, MO. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Southeast Hospice or the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee.
