Roy Calvin Gottlob, 89 of Scott City died Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri. He was born March 12, 1926 in East St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph Henry and Jessie Idaffe Mayfield Gottlob. Roy was known around Scott City as Walking Roy. Roy served in the US Army during World War II. He was awarded the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal of Germany and European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters. Visitation will be from 10:00 am on Wednesday until the time of service at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday at the chapel with Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery will full military honors.
