Gary "Coop" Welter

Gary Louis "Coop" Welter, Sr., 75 of Kelso died September 20, 2015 at his home. He was born July 2, 1940 in Kelso, Missouri to Joseph Michael and Theresa Heuring Welter. He married Janet Sue Harrell on April 27, 1963 in Chaffee, MO. He was the Department Manager at Drury Company. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 6420. He is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons. Gary Welter, Jr. and his daughter Gara of Benton and Eric (Brenda) Welter and their children, Erica and Samantha of Chaffee; three daughters, Cindy (Randy) Modglin and their sons, Ryan & Justin, Chryss (Mike) Rhymer and their children, Shelby, Brandon & Skylar and Amanda (Joe) Mosley and their daughter, Kaylyn of Scott City; two brothers, Don (Cornetta) Welter of Columbia, Missouri and Dale (Darlene) Welter of Creve Coeur, Illinois and a sister, Sharon (Tom) Lappe of Biehle, Missouri. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Parish Prayers will be at 6:00 pm immediately followed by Knights of Columbus service. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at the church with Rev. Joseph Weidenbenner as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.
