Louis Harrison Culver, age 88, of Cape Girardeau, MO passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Monticello House in Jackson, Missouri. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 17, 1927 to the late Ernest Ray and Harriet Irene Reser Culver. He married Lois Harriet Chockley on March 28, 1954 and she survives. Louis was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a telegrapher for the New York Central Railroad in Marion, Illinois where he retired in 1962. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee, Missouri and former member of Charleston Jaycee's. Survivors include his wife, Lois of the home; three sons, Joseph Ray (Diane) Culver of Jackson, Missouri, Michael (Tina) Culver of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Brian Dean (Barbara) Culver of Sikeston, Missouri; two daughters, Sharon Elizabeth (Walt) Adney of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Susan Marie (Bill) Harper of Sikeston, Missouri, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Louis was also preceded in death by a daughter and a brother. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of service, Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. with Rev. Marty Blakey officiating assisted by Rev. Gwen Streeter. The memorial service will conclude with a flag presentation ceremony presented by the Missouri Honor Guard.
