Maylon Darrell Phelps, 68 of Benton died Monday, October 19, 2015 at his home. He was born June 16, 1947 in Edmonton, Kentucky to Millis and Eliza Pearl Spain Phelps. He was a self-employed carpenter. He is survived by two sons, Maylon D. Phelps, II of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Josh Phelps of St. Louis, Missouri; four daughters, Ginger Wrather of Sikeston, Missouri, Rebecca Heuring of Oran, Missouri, Liza Phelps and Sarah Romine of Benton; three sisters, Marlene Evans of Salem, Kentucky, Janice Neal of Glasgow, Kentucky and Tammy Ward of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Benton.
