Shirley Childers
She was born in Rockview, Missouri on June 15, 1942 to the late Tony and Ida Earhart Carroll. She married Jerry A. Childers on March 19, 1988 and he survives.
Shirley was owner and operator of Shirley’s Salon in Chaffee, MO. She was a member of Rockview Methodist Church; Sikeston Eastern Star #137 where she was past Worthy Matron and Past District Worthy Matron, and Ladies VFW Aux Post #3127.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry of the home; two sons, Charles Hinkle of Jackson, MO, Douglas (Janie) Hinkle of Gorham, IL; one daughter, Lisa (Brian) Burger of Jackson, MO.; one brother, Donnie (Jolene) Carroll of Jackson, MO.; six grandchildren, Ashley Diebold, Derek Miller, Jordan Anderson, Andrew Hinkle, Valerie Hinkle and Douglas Hinkle Jr.; four great grandchildren, Mason and Aidan Diebold, Danica and Drake Miller.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Jim Carroll.
Friends may call after 4 p.m, Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, MO. The Ladies VFW Aux service will be held at 5 p.m. followed by the Eastern Star service will at 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the chapel with Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating.
Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
