Charles J. Hensley

Charles “Charley” J. Hensley, of Ironton, Missouri formerly of Scott City returned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Missouri Baptist Home in Ironton, Missouri. He was born December 5, 1927 in Blodgett, Missouri to Ollie and Mabel Jobe Hensley. He had just celebrated his 88th birthday. He graduated from Fornfelt High School in 1946. He served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. In 1949, Charley married Nina Ruth Caudle and together they had four children.   He worked at Lonestar Industries for 37 years during which he received training to become an electrician. Charley was deacon at Illmo Baptist Church for many years before he retired in 1990, at which time he and Nina moved to Windermere Baptist Conference Center where they dedicated themselves to volunteering their services for over 25 years. He and his wife are currently members of Camdenton First Baptist Church in Camdenton, Missouri. Charley was very passionate about his Christian faith and his love of children. This love was evident when a small child came around and his face lit up. His devotion to his family and his firm faith in God supported him and gave him peace in his final days.

Charley is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nina; a daughter, Dianne (Wayne) Kile of Roanoake, Texas; two sons, Dale (Cindy) Hensley of St. Libory, Illinois and Michael (Kim) Hensley of Scott City; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Hensley of Scott City and Don (Betty) Hensley of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Gladys (Alvie) Baker of Scott City; a sister-in-law, Lola Watson of Fulton, Missouri and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Caudle of Blytheville, Missouri.
