James Robert Lee, 76 of Scott City passed away at his home on Thursday, December 24, 2015 in the company of family and friends. He was born February 10, 1939 in Swinton, Missouri to James Robert “Jimmie” and Sylvia Helen Morris Lee. He married Mary Jane Held on April 24, 1965 at St. Joseph church in Scott City.
He was a retired truck driver and had worked for Spalding Trucking, Southeast Stone, Valley Steel Products and Gilster Mary Lee. He served in the United States Army from 1962 – 1964 and received an honorable discharge.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim (Rick) Dennis, Rhonda (Jamie) Weber and Kristi ( Dan) Watson; three grandchildren, Joshua Dennis, Amanda Thomas and Jordan Weber; two great granddaughters, Elizabeth and Olivia Thomas; a sister, Jackie Lee and many special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
He took pride in having a well-manicured lawn and the cleanest semi-truck around. He had a smile that could brighten a room and a laugh like no other.
His wife, daughters, grandkids and great grandkids were the loves of his life.
Memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 am until time of service on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday at the chapel with Rev. Randy Morse officiating.
Memorials may be given to Southeast Hospice.
