Henry Heuring

Henry Bernard Heuring, Jr., 79 of Benton died Monday, January 11, 2016 at his home. He was born September 16, 1936 in Ancell, Missouri to Henry Clarence and Bertha Alma Peetz Heuring. He married LaVerne Cecilia Ziegler on June 17, 1961 and they were blessed with 54 ½ years of marriage.

Henry worked for Superior Electric and then he worked for the Cotton Belt railroad and Union Pacific Railroad out of Illmo for 30 years before retiring in 1997.  He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, Missouri, United Trainmen Union and National Guard Reserves.

He is survived by his wife, LaVerne; two sons, Danny “Houley” Heuring of Benton and Doug (Kyna) Heuring of Kelso, Missouri; a daughter, Beverly (Gary) Brucker of New Hamburg, Missouri; two brothers, Larry (Pam) Heuring and Jerry (Elaine) Heuring both of Scott City; a sister, Lavada (Bill) Schlegel of Kelso; four grandchildren, Todd (Elizabeth) Brucker of Benton, Derek (Kalli) Brucker of Jackson, Kristi Brucker of New Hamburg and Nicklaus Heuring of Kelso and two great grandchildren, Sam & Grace Brucker of Benton.

He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Michael Gerard Brucker.

In younger years he loved woodworking, ceramics and playing cards. He also loved the special trips for more than 30 years to Sanibel Island.  Most of all he loved his wife, kids and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Benton. Parish Prayers will be at 6:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Thursday at St. Denis Catholic Church with Rev. Normand Varone as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Denis Catholic Cemetery in Benton.
