William Crites

William Glen Crites, Jr. age 69 of Chaffee passed away January 28, 2016 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born on March 13, 1946 in Delta, MO to the late William Glen and Norma Alleen Sanford Crites.

Glen worked as a foreman for Florsheim Shoe Company and later he was a Foreman at Thorngate Ltd. Glen served in the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War in the big Red one where he was awarded the Bronze Star.

He married Carolyn A Scheffer on June 1, 1968. Carolyn and Glen renewed their marriage vows on June 6, 2015. They were married for 47 years. His favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting and later he loved computers.

Glen is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Chaffee; a son, Bill (Theresa) Crites of Chaffee; a daughter, Yvonne Crites and Nat Choate of Chaffee; two sisters, Mary Horman and Diana “Sue” Copeland both of Chaffee; five grandchildren, Lauryn (James) Crites Hecht, Harley Markhart, Taylor Crites, Cierra Crites and Skyler Markhart and a great granddaughter, Brooklyn Hecht.

Friends may call after 4:00 pm on Sunday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Monday at the chapel with Rev. Michael Scheffer officiating.

Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.

Pallbearers will be Bill Crites, Skyler Markhart, Larry Horman, Brian Mashek, Richard Sater and Nat Choate.
