Nadine Caroline Collins Horton, 55 of Cape Girardeau passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at her home with family from a very short but difficult struggle with Leukemia. She was born July 27, 1960 in Downey, California the daughter of Walter E. and Virginia “Ruth” Stoecker Carrow. She married C.W. Horton on February 4, 2016 in Hawaii.
Nadine worked as a respiratory therapist for the past 17 years. 11 of those years were spent at Perry County Hospital and Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She loved her job and touched many people’s lives. She took care of each of her patients with love and compassion that was never left unnoticed.
Nadine loved baseball, laying out and spending time with family. She loved her family with all her heart. She was the best wife, mother grandma and friend; she will be missed by all who knew her. She believed that Jesus Christ died for her sins, and that there was nothing she could do on her own to get to heaven but through his wonderful gift.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Salena (Curtis) Blyzes, of Jackson; a brother, Joel Kenneth “Kenny” (Mady) Linebarger of Connecticut; three sisters, Sharon (Craig) Sanders and Dawn (William) Thurman of Colorado and Diana (Garvin) Mears of Oregon; three grandchildren, Avery, Christian and Alivia Blyzes of Jackson.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.
Celebration of life will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday at the chapel with Community Life Pastor, Angela Beise officiating.
Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
