Anna M Schmitt age 87 of Chaffee passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Bethesda Southgate Nursing Center.

She was born on April 13, 1929 in Ruckers, Germany to the late Wilhelm and Martha Sorg.

Anna married Benjamin W Schmitt on May 31, 1957, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1986.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. Anna retired from housekeeping at St Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Survivors include; two daughters, Martha (John) Harris of Baytown, TX; Barbara Schmitt of O’Fallon, IL; three sisters, Theresa, Monika, and Hanna; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Friends may call after 3:30 pm on Sunday, April 24 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 4 pm Sunday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am Monday at St Ambrose Church in Chaffee, concelebrated by Rev. Randy Tochtrop. Burial will follow at St. Ambrose Cemetery in Chaffee, MO
