Kyle Applewhite

February 22, 1982 - July 31, 2016

Kyle D Applewhite, age 34 of Chaffee, Missouri left this earth on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his residence in Chaffee, Missouri.

He was born on February 22, 1982 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois.

He was a graduate of Chaffee High School and SEMO Police Academy in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was employed as a technician at ARI in Jackson, Missouri.

Kyle leaves behind his sons Damion and Lucas Applewhite of Chaffee, Missouri; mother Marla (Hammonds) Shy; two brothers, Tyler Shy and, Troy Shy and girlfriend Jessica Westrich all of Oran, Missouri; maternal great-grandmother Anna Belle McClure of West Frankfort, Illinois; maternal grand- mother Margret Hammonds of Herrin, Illinois; maternal Uncle Terry Hammonds and wife Susan of Sesser, Illinois; Maternal Aunt Vicki (Hammonds) Null and husband Leon of Marion, Illinois; maternal Aunt Lori Hammonds of Herrin, Illinois; Close family friend Kim Hargraves and daughter Lauryn of Herrin, Illinois; Numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins throughout Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, and Texas.

He was married to Jessica (Rainey) Applewhite from 2008-2015. Kyle had so many friends whom he loved dearly. He was so outgoing and was always cracking jokes and laughing. He loved his sons immensely. He was passionate about his hobby of building and restoring classic cars and competed in numerous car shows with his mother and his brothers.

Kyle was preceded in death by his father David Applewhite of Texas; maternal grandfather Delmer Hammonds of Pittsburg, Illinois and maternal great-grandfather Harold “Tennessee” McClure of Freeman Spur, Illinois.

Friends may call after 4:00 pm until time of service on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.

Funeral will be at 6:30 pm Wednesday at the Chapel with Leon Null speaking.
