Leslie Surface

He was born on May 28, 1927 in Delta to the late Homer and Cora Bass Surface. He married Kathryn Marie Lynn at Piggott, Arkansas on October 30, 1948 and she preceded him in death on April 17, 2015.

Leslie served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Delta. He was a retired heavy equipment operator in St. Louis, Missouri Local 513. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt, fish and garden. He was a member of Chaffee V.F.W. Post 3127.

Survivors include two daughters Pam (Jim) Dunn and Sandy Spane both of Delta; a grandson Ryan (Bree) Dunn of Advance, Missouri; a brother Alvie (Joan) Surface of Rockview; a sister Betty Pearman of Chaffee.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Raymond and Ray Surface and three sisters Virgie Surface; Rachel Schearf and Josie Frazier.

Friends may call after 4:00 pm Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The Graveside service will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield at 10:00 am Tuesday with Rev. Alvie Surface officiating. The Missouri Honors will do a full Military Service.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Southeast Hospic or Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
