Virginia Dennis

Virginia Lucille Dennis, age 94, of Oran passed away Friday, September 23, 2016, at her home.

She was born June 1, 1922, in Cape Girardeau to the late James Simmons and Minnie Ditterline Simmons. She married Walter Keith Dennis on December 1, 1940, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1970.

Virginia was a retired machine operator for Venture Products in Oran. She was a member of Oran Baptist Church. She was a member of the Sikeston Eagles and Morley V.F.W.

Survivors include her two sons Bob (Gracie) Dennis of Oran; Joe (Debbie) Dennis of Chaffee; five grandchildren Pete (Carol) Dennis of Oran, Robin Emerson of Oran, Ricky (Kim) Dennis of New Hamburg, Dianne McGowan of Benton, Ricky Joe Dennis of Chaffee; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers Paul Simmons and Jim Simmons; one sister Marcella Elledge and one grandson Larry Joe Keith Dennis.

Friends may call after 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran with Rev. Bryan Gill officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Missouri.
